Is their such a tool for removeing these rubber stips without destroying them.

The bad news is that the clips were and still are one use clips. They usually break during removal. Sometimes you can be lucky taking them off but the usual result is they break.To my knowledge there is no "special" tool.They were made from spring steel i

I use a pair of circlip pliers or thin nose pliers but the circlip pliers work the best.I push the two ends of the pliers in between the rubber and the door with one end on each side of the metal clip (or plastic lug if it is a repo one) and squeeze toget

I ended up makeing a tool out of a butter knife lol and i had some success,i only broke 4 out of 8 on an old weather strip lol.I covered the tops of my doors with vinyl and replaced the weather strips but im not happy with one side so i have to remove a n
