Does anybody know of any places in the Bayswater - Ringwood type areas of Melbourne that are looking for an apprentice mechanic?

Im looking but without much success and wondered if anyone on here could help out

if you wanna be a mechanic have a look at maybe a diesel mechanic or diesel fitter more money and more diverse. maybe something to look at

the guy a few doors down just got a job in the local mine as a fitter. hes starting wage 150K a year. the diesel mechanics at my work are on 110K a year plus correct paid over time and benifits. i dont know motor mechanics on that sort of money

thanks very much for all the help fellas i do appreciate it, i want to do rebuilt type stuff ideally and later on do performance work i have already done multiple work experiences at different places but they arent hiring or arent what i wanted i have als

OK Ive just looked at the award rates for apprentice mechanics and you boys were very right and despite what i said before about wanting to do light stuff i am now thinking of doing diesel, the difference between light and diesel mechanics wages is a Sh*t

Diesel mechanics typically are required to work in heavy industry (obviously) which more often than not is in remote areas (specially here in WA where most are employed on

mate dont be a diesel mechanic i am one on one of those remote mines in WA it is long hours dirty as hell and very tolling on the old back, if you are looking for a mechanical trade you cant go past fixed plant a little less money but heaps better conditi

If you dont do drugs you can do it in the Army and come out as a heavy vehicle mechanic on about two and half years once you start trade. Not bad pay and not bad conditions and alot better pay than outside.

i agree,
if i had my time over again,, i would, especially nowadays,
see all the exotic foreign countries in the world, iraq, iran, afghanistan, tasmania,
being diesal mech, not on front line,,safer than going out to nighclub
more than basketcase than a bear!

Just for info.

If you do a trade in the Army you are then obligated to do further in the ADF. As a mechanic you end up dong 6 years in total. If you are serious about it it is better to do it early, you can then leave the ADF if you wish for a higher p
