hey guys.
how much and much work would it be to convert a 308 with a supra 5 speed to a 202 with either column 3 speed or the 4 speed floor shift.

Not hard at all. Both of those are standard fitment to HQ.

okay, what about throttle control? what would i have to change in the car?

hq`s are linkage not cable, just get a 6 cyl linkage set up from a wreck.

alright yeah i mean the linkage. do they fit into the same place? what else do i have to change underneath the car? its a prem and probably originally a V8.

Nothing. Just get an engine and box from a HQ-WB 6cyl 3spd or 4spd. If the car was a V8 youll just need a V8 tailshaft as the V8 will have a Salisbury diff. The only thing to be wary of is the clutch setup. HQ and HJ are different to HX-mid HZ and late HZ

if his not changing his diff he wont need change his tailshaft, with the clutch situaton the rat trap set-up (clutch mechanism) is the same from 6 to 8, the difference is the bracket that bolts onto the bellhousing
