Picked up a WB Panny with air shocks up back but have a good set of Monroe GT off my busted panny lying arount to. Just after some opinions on the best set up. Have also changed my 3 leaf springs for some 4 leafs and will be towing now & then.

Air shocks are good for towing or carrying extra load but not good for handling because when you go around a corner one shock gets compressed due to body roll. When this happens the air from the compressed shock pumps the other shock up a bit which makes |

Not sure if you can but may be worthwile looking into is see if you can get a system that keeps it at constant height and it might help towing.

1962ekwagon - Im sorry to hijack your thread but whats the deal with 3 or 4 leafs? Do you count them by the total number of leaves in the bundle and what is a std number on a wb panny?
I have airshocks on my tonner but after pumping them up in Sydney |

Air Shocks are quite simply a waste of money.
You are far better off spending the $$ on a new pair of springs and at least a quality double-acting oil shock for loads oe gas shock for handling.
No reputable suspension place will sell air shocks to y |

I dont mind air shocks,my tires dont scrub on the rear.I think it may be ilegal to have seperate valves as if one side goes it may dramaticly alter the handeling as aposed to both sides droping simaltainiously.But im no shockspert

Mack trucks have dual dshock absorbers on both sides. One pair for each rear axle. Linked longitudinally as opposed to lateral. They adjust for corners, Compensate for load and work well off road.

Good news is the panny air shocks have seperate air lines, so im not going to crash! I had air shocks when i bought the EK wagon. Leaked bad & what a pain to maintain pressure. Whant the panny low & still able to tow so will have a crack with air. The l

hey yall, the ambo i just sold, has air pummpups on it, and when i finally figured out where the valve was, and put air in them,,up they went,, and the ride is so good,, dont know about doing 100+mph round corners,, but for normal drivin up to 120lms |

As I understand the 1 tonner and the panny (maybe Ute) share the same chassis. All others you can unbolt from the front. (Correct me if I am wrong). So maybe the extra leaves indicate a true 1 tonner. What would be the benefits of adding the extra leaves?

I think youll find that ute and P/V are the same and tonner has an extra boxed brace forward of the rear axle. With P/V and ute, the body shell helps to keep the chassis rigid whereas tonner is just a cab.
