Hey all.

What is the cause for rust in a HQ in the floors, the boot and the interior floors? also how hard is it to repair rust behind the rear wheels?

and another one, how easy is it to take out and cover up an LPG system that has been put into a HQ sedan?

in all seriousness front floor rust is mainly attributed to plenum leaks or a poor sealing windscreen in HQs... hth

"Rust" the dreaded four letter word, Making new cars from pre coated/plated steel has been a big move forward also advances in sealant technology helps as water soaked old fibre under felt never dried out especially under rubber or vinyl floor coverings.

the most common way rust starts in the HQ is from a faulty heater core, they start with a slow leak which runs in behind the carpet/vinal floor covering, from there the water/coolant is absorbed into the heshan fibre insulation, where it begins to rot & s

thanks heaps monaro202 thats great advice cheers mate. thats the sort of advice i needed to pinpoint where the rust is coming from.

as for pierre im a 16 year old kid who has no experience with these cars so i am allowed to ask silly stupid questions.
