See "Fresh motor just started smoking".

Pulled the head off tonight to find 5 and 6 are glazed. Dammit! I made sure to bed the motor well, used the right oil at the beginning, etc. Now glazing is commonly due to excess fuel, and all my motor problems have been since i went to twin carbs.

Could a previously fine bore glaze up with the new carbs if theyre rich?

But worse, the reason i've been CHEWING oil and blowing smoke? The PCV seems to be sucking oil straight from the rocker cover, into the manifold. There was oil in the manifold and intake ports.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Thanks for the input.

I had a leak-down test lined up but as it was at a mates shop, for free, it had to yield to customer work. I had this weekend off and had to get stuck in to the work.

The shop that did the final tune claimed the air/fuel was ok

At absolute most it sees 5000, and thats not often. I drive it firmly, but never thrash it. Its a full rebuild with head work, cam, alloy gears and twin carbs, so its not like pushing a stocker.

Rocker cover does see a fair bit of oil, but using roller

Please note: Dr Terry did not advise to "T" piece. Read again as he advises this could create problems.

Also, PCV valves can stick open after a few miles. My old 400 went through them at the rate of around 1 per year. (But that was with unbaffled covers and a tired engine).

I recently fitted discs & a booster to a totally stock HR Special. Originally my Granfathers car. It had a fitting in the manifold already, but had a PCV plumbed into it. My dilema was where to connect the booster vacuum line. My dad, the second owner, ha

Quite possible, if youve td the booster and pcv together. If you can pull your manifold off youll probably see oil in there. or even just pull the carby.
