Anyone know what these are from and how you get that yellow retaining spring off that holds the lining in place. They are early Holden and on an old Caravan I am doing up.  Thanks.

They look like early Valiant or something similar from the 50s or 60s.
To remove the shoe retaining springs, you insert a small/medium slotted screwdriver into the centre of the spring & unhook it from the T-clip at the rear. If you look in behind the |

The rims are HR Disc rims, they still have the Olympic Cross Plys on them.
The Van is a late 60s model and I would pressume the brakes are Early Holden.
Anyway thanks for the tip on the springs. I will see how they go.

You were right on the tip on these brakes Dr Terry.
I took the whole lot down to Lilydale Brake & Clutch today and he took one look at them and said yep Valiant.
He actually had the linings and cylinders on the shelf.

OK, the identifying 1/8 hole is for HR passenger vehicles? Then no 1/8 hole is for HR commercial vehicles? What wheel would be fitted to a HR Ute with discs? A wheel with a 1/8 hole or without 1/8 hole? I ask as I have just been through the process to fit |
