Gee I have no idea what then people that purchased all those rusty wrecks off Ebay with 81837 tags would do with them? There a are so many re-shelled re-stamped re-taged cars both in Holden and Ford that we will never know the extent. Also as it has be

All of that is very valid and interesting stuff. However Vintage is talking about a HZ ute. I dont think anyone really cares what happens to a HZ ute, nor would anyone buy it for top dollar for its originality. In fact most people wouldnt care if the body |

What if the HZ utes a Sandman? Would anyone care then? After all its still a HZ ute? So its ok if its just a ute but not a Sandman?

I agree with we wreck - As long as it isnt stolen, just fix it.
Some people pay top dollar for factory cars that still have the original tyres and all that sort of stuff but if you just want a car that you can drive and enjoy then theres always gunna b

i agree with you, its a sh1tty rule given that there was never any real consensus on where applicable i.d, tags etc were located on early holdens/fords etc. Personally, id just do it, but id be keeping it to myself and at the end of day, its a ute, whi Edited by user Friday, 3 April 2009 9:56:02 PM(UTC)

So if you have a HQ ute/van/tonner and you replace the body with say a WB one then you should only need to comply with the HQ ADRs BUT you have removed the HQs compliance plate along with the HQ body and fitted a WB compliance plate have you not?

OK Gentlemen another curve ball just to mess this up a little more.
Its the ADR plate thats the legal problem.... Lets just play with the pre ADR cars, HK backwards! No doubt this will cause more comment. So leave the HZ ute alone and get a rusty ea

How about my torana (which like many many other peoples), has a police chassis number. I tried to check it with the police and vic roads and all they A, knew anything about, B, had ever recorded and C, gave a s##t about, was the V###P chassis number and t

police engine restamped numbers are the same,they dont have records and dont care either,why do they bother restamping them?ive got a 253 police stamped ,runs really good ,,cant legally use it without going ALL the way thru the rta,who would be bothered?

Gday Jim. Yeah thats what I thought. My torrie must have been stolen and recovered or damaged or something but once the cops have checked it why do they insist its restamped..? I checked with them and they have no records of the plate numbers so why dont
