ive got the "shiny" finish on a set of s*** pacemakers (long story on why theyre s***)

Anyway, hpc in leongatha coated them about 5yrs ago, and they still look like new.

They will dull off, but some good old wheel polish brings the colour up nicely.

not sure what color they call it cannon, but get the standard silver they use, and as greenhj said, just polish them up, and bang, like new.
as a matter of interest, top fuel cars use that coating on some internal parts as well as the Cryogenic process t

Mate, if your after performance, go black!
black dissapates heat quicker.. therefore keeps the extractors cooler
the chrome finish just keeps the heat in.

my 20c :)

exhaust theory says dissipating heat via the pipe is bad news...

You needs to keep that energy IN the pipe, for it to do its job proper.

Otherwise wed all be driving around with heat sinks glued to em lol.

Its good s*** though, i can run a pass,

Well, weve run tests on the race car,
and with the chrome finish we pulled 5 less Kw

not much bother for street app. but for race conditions, the black was the better go :)

im intrigued.

Can i have some details on the engine spec, car, and testing method?

Was it a straight pipe swap, was there any tuning to each pipe, what time elapsed between testing, etc etc.

Im genuinly curious, and have some thoughts, but i need

For sure mate.
Its a HQ kingswood race car.. tested on a dyno.
The pipes were pacemaker extractors. one black, one chrome finish.
as to the testing, it was run as a normal dyno test, same engine etc.. jsut the different extractors.
the engine was kept
