Hi Guys,

Am I correct in assuming that to fit a M20 four speed that is currently behind a 6 cylinder 202 to a 253 V8 I will need to change the input shaft and the bell housing???

Or am I making it all too simple?

Cheers,
Allan

as far as i know that is correct, however i would add a flywheel and clutch, and also if its a hq or hj with a rat trap set-up (clutch mechanism) you will need to change the bracket that bolts onto the side of the gearbox for the clutch rod
cheers dave

Yes you are correct, and youll also need the cover that goes over the input shaft of the correct seal type. When you pull the M20 apart (it has to come fully apart) ill bet youll also find the cluster is worn out too and possibly a 1st or 2nd gear. If you

I have the bell housing but need the input shaft if anyone has one. The box has done bugger all kays so I am hoping it is in good nick internally.

Does the 6 cylinder flywheel and clutch need replacing with V8 versions?

Cheers,
Allan
