Hi, Can somebody please tell me what the difference is between the big nut master cylinder and the others. Cheers, Steve. |

Its only an originality thing. The factory-fitted brake master cylinder for all HK to HZ & LC/LJ 6-cyl as well as LH, LX (except A9X) & early UC has a cast iron housing with a large hex nut at the front.
All the aftermarket replacements are cast with n |

Dr Terry, There were some external differences in the cast iron ones, wasnt there? ie shape of the cap and of course the stamp on the nut would help to identify their origin.... Jack

Now that were on to brake master cylinders. Can anyone identify this big nut M/C for me?. Has cast iron body, Holden 4 H cast underneath, Disc 26 F 0A stamped on the nut. Cap is rounded both ends

I always understood that they were made in-house by GM-H, in the same manner as their early gearboxes & diffs.
