Failed the nsw reg brake pressure test. The mechanic said I may be using wrong master cylinder.Front discs are XB rotor using Holden girloc calipers/rears are Ford 9 inch drums.XD master cylinder with a gemini booster. Did the XD master cylinders vary in bore size and if so which was the largest. The rear slave cylinders are in good condition but are unknown size. Any help would be appreciated.

What sort of car are we talking about here? I presume a Capri or maybe an Escort or Cortina.

The smaller bore of the HQ callipers is your main problem. you need to match them up to a smaller master cylinder which in turn may produce too much pressur

Are the commodore master cylinders 13/16 inch?. I take it that is a disc/drum set-up type. The car is a 34 ford 3 window coupe. I have the master cylinder mounted under the floor so space and mounting points are all issues.
I had the same brake set up

I think that any Pre VN Commodore rear drum one will do.

There's only 2 sizes used in VB-VR commodore - 15/16 and 1".

Regular VB-VR 6 cylinder (and some V8) commodores had 15/16" master cylinders, irrespective of disc or drum rear.
There are internal diffferences between disc & drum, so if you need a drum
Cheers,

Mick
