hoping i can get some advise on my current problem with the HK.i apologise in advance if this becomes long winded.

i`v put a th700 behind the 350,as soon as i started the car there was a loud high pitched screeching sound which i thought was coming from around the front of the box.so i un bolted the torque converter started the car again & noise is still there.

i read that a broken flexplate can cause a similar sound,so went ahead & took that off.there are no visible cracks in it but placed on a flat board it rocks side to side & some of the teeth are a little chipped which surprised me as it was bought new & had very little use.flexplate is 153 tooth & have mini hi torque starter.

it`s not a belt noise,i removed the belt & no change to the sound.

have decided to pull the motor out,was going to eventually, when i dropped the oil only 2lt came out.motor had new filter & oil about a month ago WTF.

all advise very much appreciated

cheers
jason

Any chance you put the flexplate on backwards? It can be done, and if the ring gear teeth are chipped that could be because it is fouling the block, or the clearance to the starter motor housing and/or pinion are incorrect.
