Hi all,my ute is due in for its first service,3000 ks.My question is should the oil be changed,I don't like the idea of leaving it till 15000 ks.Its a vz v6. Cheers Rob.

no they don't do a 3000 km service any more it's merely a 3000km checkup. I looked at our VZ after it's first "service" & found the oil was obviously not new. I was about to blast the dealer but decided to read the owners manual first.

You can request that they change the oil, will just cost you extra for the service. I had the oil changed on my VE SS at its 3,000k service. More for piece of mind, and as Jim said, new engine and all.

do it yrself and save some money,,,will not effect the warranty.also servicing at 8000k intervals will also tripple the life of the car,preventitive maintenance is the key to a reliable vehicle and long life out of a car you intend on keeping for an exten
