All Pagewood HK bodies were like that until not long before Brougham and Monaro release.

I think that might be stamped 928, which is Hawthorn Green, a fleet colour. 585-0036 is Dulux code for Hawthorn Green paint.

16O might be 16C, which is Onyx Green interior trim.

After 40 or 50 years some of these aluminium plates are difficult to read.

thanks for the reply, yes I think it is 928 and 16c , what do you mean by a fleet colour.

It will be a colour specific to an industry or company. These were GMH Fleet customers.

ok I understand, I wonder if there is anyway to tell who the fleet customer was, as the panelvan is about to be fully restored from a bare shell, so would be nice to know who actually ordered it as they may have had some sort of sign writing on it.that I could re-do, is the 928 the customer number, its nice to know the history of the car is starting to come forward, mostly from the great people on this site and there wealth of information, thanks again benny.

928 is GMH's code for the paint colour (or in some cases for the combination of colours like white roof over body colour). 585-0036 isn't GMH's paint code, it is the paint manufacturer's codes for the product you use to refinish/repair the paint on the car. Not sure who used Hawthorn Green though.

Panelbeaters used the Dulux number. It was the easiest method of getting the mixing formula for refinishing after collision repairs.

There are a lot a books which list all the different paint colours by these numbers. To my knowledge there is no 'official' GM-H combination code list though.

I meant i'm not sure which GMH customer used Hawthorn Green, not who used the Dulux refinish code! I fixed my reply to make it clearer.

It might have been an early standard colour a company chose for their fleet and GMH kept building cars for them in that colour. It may have been a customer's own colour too.

found an earlier enquiry from 2009 on this site with somebody else asking about this exact colour on an earlier ej model panel van, 928 trim code prefix and 585-0036 paint code, so might have been a customer with a fleet of vans.??? I would love to find out who had them.the van was assembled in Sydney so might have been a Sydney fleet customer.. thanks benny.

Fleet colours are not always single customer. For example Brambles red is used by about 10 different companies as their fleet colour.

I have a list of companies and their fleet colours somewhere, if I can put my hands on it I shall have a look.
