This question has probably been posted before, but need to know what is the correct paint finish that is used on the blacked out area of the HK GTS grille. Is the finish a matt / flat black - satin black or some "other" black finish? The paint left on the grille I have (in the area behind the chrome centre piece) seems like a flat black finish. Gerard

Most grilles are satin but I don't have the paint formula for that one. |

I think its supposed to be matte black but most people do it satin. I have 4 good original grilles and they're all matte under the center bar. No idea what the code is or was but a close match I found is SEM Trim Black 39143Dont get the SEM Euro Jet Trim Black, it is matte but its way to dark. Matte black areas on my car were: * Grille * The two grille support brackets * Headlight surrounds * Gauge surround and dash controls surround. * Hand painted area on the front guard next to the headlight surround. * Hand painted area on the side of the spare wheel well, lower rear quater. Photo of my grille next to the plastic gauge surround piece. Photo of my headlight surround next to the plastic gauge surround piece. Wayne Edited by user Wednesday, 18 May 2016 1:34:09 PM(UTC)

The SEM paint is a bit darker and slightly glossier than original. I might take my grille to the experts and get it matched correctly. Heres a very flat looking near zero-gloss NOS headlight surround as a good example of how I think the grille should be. Edited by user Tuesday, 24 May 2016 12:37:25 PM(UTC)
