I have a VH commodore with a power glide gearbox. I recently took it to a Sunday breckie meet at Lakeside and ran into trouble. As I put down some power on the straight I think I broke the input shaft. I cant select any gears except for park. Going down the straight I shift from 1st to 2nd. The box "slammed in hard" and then nothing...
The motor puts out a reasonable 530at the wheels. Looking for reasons why the input shaft broke and what benefits I would get out of putting in a ringless shaft and why the box "slams" into gear hard.
I haven't pulled the box out yet just looking for some good advice/answers
