Hi looking for information on HR ute just purchased and currently filling out VicRoads forms for rego transfer from interstate and need the GVM ?? and compliance plate date ??
This in the information that I have 166 HR ute
Body identification plate on fire wall as follows
Body HR2106MR-64918M
Trim 510-F01
Paint 585-9562
Insert 040
Found a very small plate also on the fire wall with M143400
Their is a plate also on the passenger side of fire wall which has no information on it looks like what ever was written on it has faded off over the years
Any information as to where it was built and the manufacturing date color and trim details ect would be appreciated thanks Graham

There is no compliance plate on a HR. These didn't come in until 1/1970. M143400 is the PSN, same thing as you find on the end of a VIN plate on a HK onwards although on those the Dandenong assembly plant PSN starts with J, on HR they use an M (for Melbourne). The other plate you are talking about that is faded has the GVM on it originally. Rare Spares make a repro, 33.5cwts. http://www.rarespares.ne...e.aspx?product=GWT1006. Just do a Google conversion for ctws (hundredweight) to kg. A hundredweight is just about spot on 50kg from memory. Your car was originally a 161 manual with front drums. The 040 code is the package code for HR and tells you this, however you only find this on vehicles with a Dandenong body and sometimes in the owner's manual. The M in the code on the BODY line in HR2106MR also tells you it is a manual. 510 is Grecian White, that is the exterior colour originally. Thanks for the information will pick up one of the reproduction plates,this will make the engine bay look much better think this is great that these bits and pieces are still available.

Dr Terry Yep that's correct it is blue Just to be sure of my calculations the GVM would be 1675KG

Sounds about right. HQ-HZ 6cyl ute is 4750lb/2155kg and HK-HG is somewhere in between. |
