I have heard some of the crazy prices paid for some of the Holden Memorabilia.

Here's a link to a video of the cars and the prices they sold for.
An 11% buyers premium must be added to these prices.

Some friends, ex GMH Purchasing with over 40 years experience each, went and stayed for the 3 days and advised they thought the pricing was exorbitant for a lot of the posters and memorabilia. They were repricing their own private collections and thought their super funds would benefit if they sold what they have. It is like most auctions where some people get excited and spend more than they planned. Considering a lot of the later model cars sold were probably just ones that were traded in over recent years, after a good life. The saving grace is that the cars were purchased, will be rebuilt and saved from the wreckers.

There was a lot of stuff there that many had not seen before and probably never will again, especially some of those old posters. So what is a reasonable price for a Holden poster???

Most of the cars were sold on the right money, even if they needed some work.

There were a couple of "MAN CAVE" items that I would have let pass well before they got to their sale price, but I have spent money on thing in my collection that others would have thought was toooo high.

There is one very happy ex Holden dealer and an even more happy auction house.

I was there also Warren for the 3 days and yes the prices paid were quite unbeleivable. Cars, NOS, used parts and memorablia. The FX was the only item put up for auction that had a reserve. FX Price started at 500K and went down to 200K at which time it was passed in. Everything else was to be sold no reserve no matter the price.

Hi Flem .. You're saying that the auctioneer dropped down to $200,000.00 and still had no bids ?

....Charlie was touting this car at $1,300.000.00 at the height of the collector boom. Sheeeesh !!
