G'day, Can anyone shed some light on these numbers Body: HK80170-1740-A Trim: 1172-14B Paint: 568 10845

Yes, HK Belmont van. Body built at Elizabeth and assembled at Elizabeth. It is the 1740th HK Belmont van out of the Elizabeth body plant (maybe half that total of vans out of Elizabeth Assembly plant by that time). 1172 is Ermine White. 14B is Blue trim but the later Blue that was used in HK once HB Torana was released. I think it was Jacana Blue in Kingswood and upwards, but Belmont just got plain blue, green, gold etc from memory. Could have been just about any conceivable driveline combination other than 6cyl M20 or 327 M21. Most likely 161 3spd or 186 3spd, next most likely 307 auto. You never know though, I once missed out on a near rust free $250 HK panelvan by 5min to a demo derby guy. It was 186S, M22 4spd with buckets, U21 dash and LSD, white with black trim.
