How come only Warwick Yellow owners seem to want to sell their cars ?
You never see Red or Gold or Blue cars for sale ?
The last 5 GTS 327 cars sold have all been Yellow, where are all the other colours ?
eg. How long since anyone has seen a Silver Mink 327 for sale ?
Is their a massive value difference ?
All seems odd to me.

I know of a Silver Mink 327 sold a little while back, and I have a red 327 in my shed that is going soon.

The Yellow Car was shown the flag in 1968, I think that is why. If they'd got it correct everyone would want a red one!

Silver Mink was the Canadian engine Survivor that has been discussed here.

Red car is going to my mate, so no $ figure. I have too many cars for myself and I only bought it as a template to restore my Warwick Yellow Pagewood car from, but it is an Acacia Ridge example so useless for that purpose. My yellow car is not going to be original anyway, so no need to keep the red one anymore and at least he will use it.

That 'yellow car' theory is looking shakey, a white HT350 auto sold today for $310,000 + 7.5% fees and charges.

Bruce McPhee bought a Warwick Yellow car from Wyong motors. There was some assistance from the dealer going forward. Bruce, Wyong Motors and some of Bruce's associates prepared the car. He drove it to Bathurst and won the great race. Coincidentally, Warwick Yellow happened to be the colour used in the iconic "Space Girl" advertising.

These are the main reasons Warwick Yellow is THE colour.

Regarding the Space Girl marketing. I feel that, with understanding of the era that Warwick Yellow was a good choice and in line with the fashions of the as successfully. I am sure they could have used Silver or Blue with the same success for this.

Other colours in the range are to most, nicer.

They did do Red, with a "Little Red Riding Hood" theme and Blue with the Monaro on the test pad.

Several HKGTS327s have sold for near record prices over the past decade. Also , a Blue one and a silver went for big money too. So I would not say Warwick Yellow has ALL of the bragging rights. I bid on the Warwick Yellow which set a record at Shannons Ten years back. Went home without it. Now have a red one and could not be happier.

As I have said elsewhere HKTGs are finally getting the recognition they deserve. As much of a fan of all things Falcon GT I am, the looks and styling of an HKGTS327 are much better than the boxy XW and XY (however they have a style of their own) and I do feel the Falcon GT was a better built car back in the day. The GTS327 won Bathurst before the first GTHO was produced and the next year a Monaro won too..

Cheers

Nick.

Hi Warwick Yellow.

What is your first Name?

Yes that is an absolute record. I am sure this is also the record for any automatic Holden, not just for an HKTG Monaro.

Warwick Yellow, just like Ford's, Brambles Orange and Vermillion Fire, does represent the colour of the Bathurst winning cars of the day....White for HTs too.

Cheers
Nick.

Hi Nick,
Its Peter here.
I gunna paint my cars white and stick autos in them.
Worth more money this way. Yellow 327's are yesterdays news now !!
Also gotta update my user name to "Kashmerewhite".

So just follow the colour of the winning race cars, who would have figured - but it matches the facts.

Better rip out and buy red and white LJ XU1 before the Torana boys get on to this.

Woot Cold XXXX BitterLove Drool
I have always liked the silver mink in the HK GTS as it gives a look of class I believe, but it may be because my sister had a silver HK Premier and red interior, but that silver colour did fade badly, making it a bastard.
But Yellow you can hide a lot of imperfections easy, like chop a bit of rust out and touch it up and no one will know, but Silver Blink

Hello Peter

All of these models are yesterdays heroes which is why they are collectible today. Any good HKTG 327/350 is now worth big bucks. I think you are pretty safe with Yellow. I find it extraordinary that an automatic HT350 has sold for that price. Up until last weekend that was record breaking manual transmission pricing.

Cheers
Nick.
