Just purchased a VS ecotec engine cover(v6 in FJ)from holden dealer and find the colour is not as the original. Do they have to be re-painted or have they changed the colour?? the old one was silver but the new one comes "champagne" or "gold pearlish" colour. Has anyone experienced this problem?? if so what paint will go over the plastic??(will probably have to paint rocker covers as well) AL.

They were all silver (matte finish) from the factory on new cars from VS to VY.
My guess is the P&A supplier isn't meeting the spec properly with regards to the colour.

Most paint these days is pretty good & won't eat it, but to be sure, I'd use pai
Cheers,

Mick
