Hi , I have just been though the Police Museum in Melb , checked out the display of the blow up commodore , on inspection it seems to be a VB , but the ID tags and the information displayed seemed to say it was a Brock Commodore ? Tags are VK , inside the shell is a front indicator light which is VH ? I looked up some original pics of this very tragic event and it doesn't look like the car in the original bombing is the one displayed ? anyone seen this ? Mark. |

They used a Silver VK Group 3 owned by a friend of mine in the re-creation of the event for TV. Maybe the car on display was blown up in a training exercise if it's that different? |
Cheers,

Bits of the car and shrapnel were thrown several blocks, some over 6 storey buildings. It took them weeks to round up the bigger bits. 50 sticks of gelignite have that effect. What's on display doesn't look much like what was left in the street, so it could be a reconstruction.
