My wife just inherited her sister's Captiva and the oil looks older than the car. I just had a look around and can't find the oil filter. Maybe because I'm new, maybe because it is one of those newer filters, where you use replace the paper inside, so t doesn't look like what I'm used to. I dunno.

But I do know that I've got a huge couple of days and I don't want to ruin the engine driving around (or sitting in traffic) with this sludge clogging up everything.

d'oh!

Your help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about your year model/engine type, but some of them had a replaceable cartridge type filter under the oil filler cap

Thanks. I'll check that out. I'm not sure of the engine type but ours is a 2008 LX 5 seater
