So the one that Holden kept was the old CV6 Monaro? Meaning the one that got out into the Public was a HSV coupe (hence not a Monaro)? |

That is one strange car with a good story, notice it is the 28th Elizabeth HT chassis number and the second Elizabeth HT 81837. Yet is has a compliance plate.... The body was completed way back during HK with 1-A but only 1-A was assembled (as a HT GTS”327”), but 2-A wasn’t assembled until 1970 hence the compliance plate affixed. |

That is assuming that HSV started with a coupe or just a body from Holden. A bit like the V8 XU1, Holden started with a GTR not an XU1, and as HSV was going to remove all the GTO stuff anyway they would have more than likely done the same, start with a cheaper version. Warren Yes, but HSV planned to sell these as a HSV vehicle, and HSV never made a Monaro (not for Australia at least). I imagine they would have been built the same as the other HSV coupes with most work done on the Holden assembly lines and finishing at HSV? However if this one was the original CV6 then it was a Monaro, and even modified it still was one and it would make it the most expensive Monaro to date! |
