Looking back on all the Holden's what do people think about the back seats in them.
When getting into a HK Premer I was surprised to find just how comfortable it was to be in the back of it.
I do not think that the HQ to HZ was as good or even Statesman's but for the WB Statesman being better than the HK-T-G Premier's Brougham's.
The only back seat that Ford made that was great was the ZH Fairlane that was truly something, the P5 and P6 LTD were not that good and the ZJ Fairlane was not as good and the XD was shocking rubbish as I preferred the VB Commodore back seat any day to the XD, the XD centre rear was like a rock.
I found the XA-B-C Hardtop rear was not a nice place to be in or the Valiant Chargers I could not stand them.
The HK-T-G Monaro were not up to a Premier rear seat at all.
The XM-P Hardtop was crap seat but you could see out and about fine, not like the Charger and XA-B-C that you were in a cave.
Maybe the Landau is nice with them seats.
You have to have a centre fold down arm rest as well in a back seat or it's just a shit box that's just for brat kids.

Regretted selling it to buy a 7 seater Maverick to put 4 kids in the back. It was a dream to sleep in and I did often on long trips.

The three most comfortable cars I have owned and/or driven as dead stock cars are as follows. These are cars you could get in and just drive until you had to get fuel, get out and feel a million bucks. Unlike say my 2011 Hilux (before I changed the driver's seat to a Recaro Ergomed) where your arse goes to sleep after 50kM, and you are constantly moving around trying to get comfortable. VQ Statesman gets my vote. I actually find the velour on these more comfortable than leather seats

I actually find the velour on these more comfortable than leather seats That's that imitation leather crap that people call leather nowadays. the Old Jaguars had real leather seats and you can smell it. not to mention that old Holdens have a smell as go Fords and Valiant's, I could be blind folded and tell that in a instant. I like Velour I have it in my car, but you don't want kids or grubs in a car with such.

I did not mind being in the back of dads VG Valiant ute with the 3 of us kids sitting in the back tray looking back wards at the road and the bub was in the front, they were long trips as well. did the same in the F100 as well. but them were the days when you could do such and no one thought anything of it.

I think that the P76 had a wide bottom seat next door had a blue Targa, plenty of space to sleep if you are under 6ft it maybe ok. Did they have air ducts to the rear ? I think it was the XD Falcon until they got them or you had to go P5 LTD ? I don't remember the HZ Statesman having them just off hand, maybe they did.

Yep, definitely had rear A/C ducts that ran through the centre console, 2 x adjustable outlets. "big" sway bars, new gas shocks and it was a great touring car. Only thing I did not like was the spin cylinder speedo, just looks weird. Google unique cars there is only one photo (rear door open) that you can just see the outlets in the centre console.
