That’s what I said, DIN is like SAE net (GM1) just with even closer simulation to how it is in a car. My point was they didn’t quote figures for differing exhausts between say VC and WB

Peak power and torque is what is quoted in sales brochures and most manufacturer’s literature. They rarely showed curves. You had to drive them to determine for yourself which was the more suitable car for you.

Another few questions:

Q5. What was the only colour for later HZ (once Commodore colours were applied) that wasn't standard on Sandman? Answer: Reef Green (Sandaro)

Q6. Ditto for HZ Premier?

Q7. What two standard colours from this period do you think I not only do not have a Sandman recorded in, but do not have anything recorded in? For example and ruling out one colour for you, I have many HZ's in Mojave beige but no Sandman. Answer: Ashley Grey and Dark Carmine (wbute). Plus the MkII version of Tuxedo black.

Q5 and Q6 in post 24 still not answered fully yet.

Q8. Initial HZ production (pre Commodore). What of the available standard colours do I not have a Sandman recorded in? I actually do not have any HZ commercial in the colour either.

could go from idle to 130 mph .... without changing gears. Drool

And it would do simply do that. Get it rolling in 1st then snick it into 4th
and take foot off accelerator .. until revs dropped back to idle.
Then simply slowly push the pedal down ... and off it would go!
yes, chug chug a bit down low but it would continue up to over
6,000 rpm and not a gear change in sight.

In contrast, my VX SSII manual was not happy in top under 1,200 rpm
and would start shaking the whole drivetrain at 1,000. Totally different

If only the Munro had the SS gearbox and brakes ....Dancing

Yes one may think of a car and question why it is that we can love such a thing.
I talking to an old mate about all of his cars and he snapped back that P of S with some of them directly, he is not really into cars like me but regardless people do has a soft spot for cars regardless I have found even my mum has.

That mate had a photo of my HG Premier and he went and got it and said that was the car that he liked the best out of all my cars. maybe it was that his dad had a HT Premier but only a 186 and mine a 253 V8 with air, or maybe the colour.

Things that I was blown away with is how in my VY SS sat on the road at 210 to 260km/h quiet no wind noise driving ya up the wall or floating about on the road, could drive that flat to the boards from Brissy to Cains or whatever and just love it, just sit back with crus control on at 210 in 5th taking it easy. that's what it's all about, look what this can do. I am amazed ! that's what it's all about !

But the old cars have their charm like you say Yoda. you could get some young bloke that has owned a VE SS etc but never driven a stock HT GTS 350, but if they did, they would say f me dead ! the f ing torque ! the exhaust note when you drive it and when you sit in it driving it looking out the sides, I f ing love that no pillar and that shape it's f ing classic !

Hang on I have been drinking they say with this covid 19 you are best to keep your fluids up and don't get a dry mouth or else, I have been drinking one bourbon one Rum and one Beer. you know how the song goes.

For Q7 yes, Dark Carmine. If you read the question I said that it wasn't Mojave Beige. I just realised there is another colour that I have no HZ's in at all as well as Ashley Grey and Dark Carmine. Tuxedo Black MkII. I have heaps of HQ-HZ Sandmans and other commercials in 2214 Tuxedo black (33 of them making it a pretty common colour compared to many others), but nothing in 1959 Tuxedo Black MkII. 2214 was also relatively common across other HQ-HZ and LH-LX, I have a few HQ-HX coupes in it plus a fair few SLR5000 and SS. Never seen anything in 1959 at all.

I believe it to be 1980 WB Statesman, the first Ford to have that was a 1973 LTD.
