I can’t open the door and have tried all the ways I know but the latch won’t release Has anyone got a solution other than destroying the door trim

wind the window down and go down inside the door and see if you can snag the inside door lock lever with a bent coathanger and release the door that way ( I assume drivers door?) |

Depends what is happening. If the door is still locked, do as #Smitty2 suggests. Check out the inside of the other door for what has to happen. Easy to do. If it isn't locked it is probably the metal of the latch and pin sticking. Try these: Lift the door hard. Lift straight up on the handle as you try to open it. And jerk it. The hinge may be worn and putting too much weight on the latch. Or get someone inside, have them brace their feet against the door and push hard as you try to open it. Or give it a 'shoulder'. Watch out for when it gives way! Then lubricate the latch, it makes a world of difference but the lubricant can end up on you or your clothes if you rub against the pin. Good luck.
