Hi, ive put my ute up for sale but am starting to wonder whether it could maybe be a sandman? Its a 4/1975 HJ L31, M21, GV4, 2 seats, 2200gvw, BHJ11456B chassis number, model-HJ8WN80, body-3471498, trim1886 64V, paint-568 15949 vin-8N80TEH347149J. Engine number is QT630266. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You cannot tell from the tags with a HJ Kingswood ute. Being an Acacia Ridge body and not having the XX7 vehicle package code on the body tag I’d say no though. |

The only way you can pick it for certain is by the body, but if it has been butchered or had original paint removed in certain areas you’ll never know. |

What are they? Most things that make up a HJ Sandman ute were optional on any HJ ute. Almost all things that were unique to Sandman were easily added, examples the fluted guards and sports steering wheel. |

I think it was the blackouts and black door handles that made people think. Im pretty sure now though that its just been made to look like a replica. Its on gumtree under hj ute (yellow one from 3 days ago) if youre interested in having a look

The black outs and black door handles on your ute are more Hx/Hz. I think you're right about it being made to look like a replica. That said a nicely optioned ute. Sandman or not very desirable combo
