G'day guys, Asking if anyone has any knowledge if any manufacturer is replicating original steel rims for HQ-on, but in 15". That would still look original & take hubcaps. I'm sure there would be a market for such
Thanks for any thoughts

You should be able to buy Pontiac or Chevrolet 15” stock rims. These will fit, not sure about hubcaps though: https://www.wheelvintiqu...eries-o-e-tri-five.html
Failing that, you can always buy 15” hoops that take original 14” centres and get them welded together, you just have to get the 14” hoops removed from the centres. Same way people used to get 15” Rally Rims made in Australia. Look here: https://www.raceengineering.com.au/wheels.htm

I had the same issue when looking for 15” repro wheels for my HK. Everything was made in 15x7 only for some stupid reason. I wanted 15x6 Pontiac Rally or even those 15” alloy replica HK-HT GTS wheel, but they are all 7” and in silly backspace. Useless. I ended up using replica Chevelle SS in 15x6. |

Thanks Byron & Smithy.
Yes I agree, with the width. I am looking for 6" or possibly 6 1/2"
I have had rims modified, wider & changed offset, over the years, & now was being lazy, seeing what is out there ready to go.
The bciwheels, Smithy put the link up, is the look I'm after, & I will contact them & have a chat.
Thanks guys

Silver ones too, unfortunately bloody 7" again! https://www.ebay.com.au/...a8dd:g:sPYAAOSwD7NfoNM7
Here is a 15x6 to suit 10 1/8" caps. Is 1/2" offset which means 4" backspace which is the same as a late HQ to N66 wheel (14x6 rally rim as standard on GTS and Sandman): https://www.ebay.com.au/...PfvY&frcectupt=true
The optional HQ-HX 14x6 rim (PC1) and the standard cab-chassis HQ-WB 14x6 wheels are the same offset as the standard 14x5 rim, 0.625" (5/8"), which makes them a backspace of 4 1/8" on the 14x6 and 3 5/8" on the 14x5. The standard HZ-WB 6" rims (except cab-chassis) are the same offset as the N66 rally rims (0.5"), and afaik the N67 14x6 alloy rally rim as used standard on GTS and Sandman from mid-1978 and a year later on HZ SL/E is the same. For reference the 14x7 PE1 rim optional on HJ-HZ is 0.34" offset which is 4.34" backspace. And the N71 (spoked) HZ 14x6 wheel is 0.39" offset meaning 3.89" backspace. I don't have the data for WB 15x7" rims. |

WB remained 4.75” PCD. Some stuff went metric like some bolts and pipe nuts. |
