$320k plus buyers premium. The most a HT 350 has sold for that does not have any racing heritage.

I think it did have a closed door respray, but the interior looked very original, I think the top of the rear seats had sun damage, so at least that showed its authenticity.

I also think it being a early build number, I think it was the 27th HT 350 to be built at Pagewood helped in reach the price it did.

It was the 7th official HT350 from Pagewood.
The selling price was surprising, given it had, at the very least, a restamped engine.

Very hard to find early manual HT GTS350 that haven’t been rebuilt and decked as part of the process.

There is another HT350 coming up for auction at Grays Classic Cars Auction, but it has been fully restored.

HT 350
Daytona Bronze
Manual
(It says period correct engine, does that mean not original)
No Radio fitted
Hounds tooth Interior
Factory Power steering

Sounds like the car I pulled out of a paddock 10+ years ago. It was in poor shape. Was a Pagewood car, have lots of photos of it when at my in-laws farm where it sat for a few years after I got it.

Not a bad looking ol jigger. It’s an Acacia Ridge build. Spotto the HG bonnet. Incorrect location of LSD decal inside drivers door jam and it looks too low at the front. Brougham rubber subframe plugs in engine bay.

The HG has three oval shaped holes on the passenger side underside for access to the nameplate speed nuts on Kingswood and Premier.

It can be seen in the photo directly in front of the car with the bonnet up.

Thanks mate, I learn something everyday. It's obvious once you point it out. Are the remanufactured ones like this too?

Sadly it does not have the original engine.
At least they haven't tried to fake this.

It may be the original engine just rebuilt? I haven’t seen the ad. Hardly any of that first big batch of manual 350 engines survived without a rebuild. Most were rebuilt in the 70’s and decking was part of the process.

It could have been decked but it has some hokey pokey non Holden engine number stamped on it. There is no attempt to replicate the original letter style or number. Just a plain small number stamping.
Grays sent me a picture but I don't know how to post it here.
But note the description as mentioned above here "period correct" as opposed to "original engine".
Rian the guy that runs Grays Classic Cars is no mug and he understands numbers in these cars so I think the description of "period correct" is very deliberate so as not to mislead.
I don't think its the original engine, if it was and it was rebuilt/decked you would expect they would put the same number back on.
Not some other alphabet soup number.
The car still looks nice.

The 4H9 steering box date code is incorrect too for a 3/70 build. It should be an A0 or B0

I'm not sure. I haven't looked at one of the reproduction bonnets. Maybe somebody else could can confirm.

interesting, the Daytona Bronze that was with grays online recently got passed in at $185k.

Yet an identical vehicle which also didnt have its original 350 engine sold for $320k plus buyers premium.

So what gives?

the one for $320k its interior was original and torn ontop of the rear seats, where as the one that was passed in seemedn to have a bit of a resto to it.
