How hard is it to fit a VT Calais 5 litre and auto into a VS V6 auto Ute?

From when I’ve seen Mick answer this sort of stuff before it is a lot more complex than you might think. From memory he has suggested you get a VS from the same timeframe and use all the dash harness. I think you need V8 K frame etc too, fuel tank etc. In the end it’s better to buy a V8 ute.

So the complete VT Calais I already have won’t be compatible as a donor for the K frame and wiring etc?

Not the dash and body harness. Don’t know about the K frame. I’m not the best to answer, just remember Mick’s replies before on it.

You will need a VR/VS V8 K-frame, but all of the a/cond & radiator etc, is also very different.

The other main drama will be the wiring harness. you're dealing with 2 different generations of BCM/ECM etc.

Going on the price of used cars, just find a VS V8 ute.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Yeah there was a cheap VS Ute for sale that looked ok and I have the VT already. Just thought it might be a simple conversion. Sounds like it isn’t really though.
