Help needed please with the info on a Dandenong built Hr Holden Premier id plate. Does the number 162 on the insert line indicate 186 engine and disc brakes? Thank you

Will check it for you.

Checked. 162 does mean 186 and disc brakes, but possibly also something else. The following are known:

120 is 186 auto.
160 is 186 manual
122 is 186 auto with discs.
162 is 186 manual with discs.

However we have also found 123, 124, 126, 165 and 166 so I suspect there will be 121, 125, 161, 163 and 164. They will mean factory fitted options combinations like LSD, power steering, instrument cluster, power tailgate and later 4spd manual etc. Might be other stuff like heavier suspension, maybe even seat belts. We don't have enough data to nail it perfectly yet.

Possibly 121 and 161 are 186 with say LSD? Which then logically means 122 and 162 are 186 with discs respectively auto and manual. Which would logically mean 123 and 163 are 186 (A and M) with discs and LSD, but this is pure speculation.
