Hi Guys, I am looking to work out what I have here, I'm looking to sell it but i have gotten some negative feedback.
Its a HZ One Tonner with a 308 and turbo 400, the trim code is 67C and I was reading in a sandman post that says that it seems odd
Some say they only way to get the L31 is with the B06 option but the tags dont have it, its got a prem front, std dash and column auto with a bench

Any insight into the validity or like goodness of it would be appreciated
I bought it about 20years ago and it was pretty far gone but complete and original as far i could tell.
I was always going to restore it and still may after the bad experience when i put it up for sale

Ambulance pack, BO6. The only way you could get L31 M41 in a cab chassis.
BO6 got Prem front, HZ cowl, Premier door trims. I used to own one in Ultra Blue (was converted to an Overlander when new), and Dr Terry still has one. I also had a white one but it was only L32 M40 with air, buckets and sports dash. The L31 example had buckets and sports dash. Friends had one new, it was L32, M20 with bench from memory. I can’t recall if Dr Terry’s had a sports dash. I don’t think I’ve found a 6cyl one yet.
Most I have seen have been HZ, a few HX and one HJ. You could option BO6 on a van as well. A lot were converted to Ambulances but many were just bought by tradies or people who wanted an upgraded tonner.

Hey thanks for that, just leaves a couple of anomalies though, seat capacity is 3 so it must have been a bench and any idea what the 67C means?
like i know things could have changed over the years, is there any way to work out what the trim would have been? 67 is Tan but is there cloth involved? It has the prem front but the interior is all kingswood inc dash
But it is definitely BO6 ya think, are there any avenues to get build sheets or similar from holden or any private lists around?

67V and 67C are brown vinyl on a HZ Holden. Tan is Kingswood, Premier etc.
BO6 is nothing special, really just the Premier front and door trims with long armrests. The L31 M41 is what makes it worth a bit more than any other cab-chassis in identical condition, but L31 M41 does that in any HZ from a base Holden spec through to Premier and GTS.

When WB was introduced they went back to V trim designation.

Did the B06 get the sedan cowl panel to suit the premier front? I assume the normal one tonner had the earlier HQ style cowl?

Yes, BO6 cab chassis got the standard HJ-HZ cowl. It meant an additional body in white, but they did it rather than prepare Special Vehicle Orders. Initially they only anticipated 90 Ambulance Vehicle orders per annum across M60 and M70 models (as of late 1974). Initially this meant:

Premier grille, sheetmetal and front bar.
Premier door trims.
Complete front floor mat.
55A alternator.
Utility bumperettes (for cab chassis to add to Ambulance body)
Belmont hubcaps (from sedan/wagon)
Windshield in position but not fused.

As the volume was so low I reckon these were restricted only to Ambulance sales. However by HZ they were easily purchased by anyone. I know of two people who bought them new, one M60 and one M70. The guy who bought the M70 bought one as it looked like a DL7 delete stripe Sandman (the most common HZ Sandman) but was 1/4 of the Insurance cost, and he got a 5.0L, buckets, console, N66 rims, sports dash etc. Just missed out on the steering wheel, mirrors, blackouts and full length headlining. If he wanted to he could have optioned the comfort pack which was the headlining and carpet, and had a dealer fit the mirrors and steering wheel.
