Anyone done this successfully without removing the tank? Can it be siphoned out the fill neck? There will be some old fuel in there, I put about 20L of 98 in but there may still have been up to 10L of old fuel in there. Last time I split the joint in the fuel lines under the driver’s side and drained a lot out but this time it wouldn’t flow easily, might have to be on a slope? I changed the inline filter (between the supply line and the pump) on the weekend and the old one was pretty clean, but I suspect it still has stale fuel in it.

Do you have a spare electric fuel pump lying around? Hooked up to a bit of garden hose you can move it to the lowest point in the tank to get most of the fuel out through the filler tube.

I have just siphoned through the filler. Not guaranteed to get it all out, but most so you can dilute with new fuel. If the plan is to just get good fuel in it to start it, why not dilute it with another 20 litres?

I’ll try it from the filler. I don’t want to get any more in there as once I have the parking hoist in over the next few weeks I want to pull the tank out and put a KBS kit though it to protect it.
