Was it an 80437 from Pagewood? Was it number 1 from Pagewood or Elizabeth?

Its not the first HT 1837, that should be from Elizabeth (Adelaide). It will be the first GTS350 built in Pagewood, Sydney. Warren has told us here before also that the very first HT 1837 was actually a 327!

In those days they pumped out about 400 cars a day, so if they made Monaros only on a day they would only need 37 days to make all the HK Monaros. Monaro production was about 41 per day, or 300 per week.

So no, they did not have specific days for Monar

To add to what Warren has said, there will be several number 1s.

Each model was numbered separately, so there will be a number 1 81837, a number 1 80837, a number 1 80737, a number 1 80437 & a number 1 80337, as well as Belmonts, Kingwoods, Premiers et

HT 80437 number 1 from Pagewood was chassis number HT00008SS and had HK style ID plates. As the GTS350 wasnt released with the rest of HT, the first HT GTS350 from Pagewood will have a much higher chassis number.

The Belmont/Kingswood/Premier sedan & wagon HT range was introduced about 3 weeks before the normal Monaros, so many early Monaros would have had much higher chassis numbers than early sedans & wagons.

You could almost consider HT00008SS a pilot build

Warren, interesting to see how many HKs were made, obviously about 14,800 by your calculations.
That is more than I was aware.
How many HT and HGs did they make by comparison?
I would assume that the highest number of Monaro coupes built would have bee

Warren,

The number of HG Monaros you mention sounds quite a bit high to me. I was under the impression that only a litle over 6,000 HGs were built as they were always said to be the rare ones, with GTS 350s in this series few and far between when they

Yes the figure is 6147. 9s and 6s???

Averaging was for effect only, you cannot average any model, as Holden tries to make things in batches normally. ie they would make vans in batches, whilst these were going through there would be few sedans, their "
