I nearly had a heart attack ! No Fastlane . I had never appreciated how much knowledge is buried and available in this forum. Its the greatest Holden Library on Earth and it would be a sin to lose it. Anybody else get to learn how valuable the info here is ?

Its a pity that to a degree facebook has killed off the forums as they are a much better way to communicate. Ive learnt a hell of a lot from this particular forum. There are some unbelievably holden savvy people on this site, and kudos to them, especially Byron, Dr Terry, Smitty, commodore Mick and Warren and the like who always answer peoples questions. Its the best brains trust on the web I reckon. Edited by user Wednesday, 6 October 2021 7:55:27 PM(UTC)

I hope Fastlane doesn't disappear. Too much knowledge here. I've already lost the USMuscle forum! And I too have benefitted from the gurus here. |

I am an admin on another car site and a motorcycle forum and member posts and overall traffic has dropped with more going onto Bookface. Unfortunately .... Biggest problem is that has the morons and wannabe's messing around, spouting garbage.. unlike here and other specific forums that are all about the area of interest |

The original post was about the site not working for a few days I think. They must have had a server or DNS issue or something.
I found it quite "funny" (probably not the right word but can't think of another at the moment) that is was big news a few days ago when Foolbook and associates didn't work for a few hours. It was global news, people were concerned about other people's mental health etc. I didn't even notice, didn't affect me and life got on as normal! Smitty is right though, there is so many loonies out there that seem to gravitate towards such platforms that they do not interest me at all. I do see why Trump wants to be back on them though as in the USA its a not insignificant part of his supporter base. |

Not sure where it will head in the future. Not many of the younger generations bother with Facebook now. That platform will slowly fail for car based stuff too. Unfortunately I think all the knowledge will just disappear as the knowledgeable people disappear. The only fail safe platform is books and not many of them have been published. Dr Terry certainly has done his best with books as a few others have. Websites and Facebook are useless, once the people driving them get sick of it, they just close down and disappear.
