For my HQ ute project I have the Statesman Deville cluster comprising a speedometer, large fuel gauge and small temperature and oil pressure gauges. Mine is a July 1973 car. I have two speedometers available. One is in miles per hour and the other has kmh externally with an inner ring of mph. Leaving aside the GTS speedometers, I have seen one with kmh for speed, an odometer in miles and below that is written the conversion value of miles to kilometres. When was this latter speedo used?
Even when searching on Google Images, it is very uncommon.

Is the one with the metric converter, possibly a sticker? There was some of those around you bought at accessory shops to update your speedo

You are totally correct. I went to the seller today and it was a sticker on a standard speedo. He had a few other good parts so it worked out well.

It must have only just missed out on receiving a factory km/h speedo, AFAIK they were introduced during July/Aug 1973 production.

Was there a factory one with both KMs and Miles, but not a sticker as described above?

Yeah that's like mine, its 9 or 10 month '73. I didn't think it had a sticker, but I couldn't see well enough with the standard dashboard light to completely rule it out!
