I have a 2019 Acadia LTZ Limited Edition AWD with a 6.2 litre LS3.
My previous car had adaptive cruise control. The Acadia has cruise control but not adaptive. Only the LTZV version had adaptive.
Can anyone tell me whether my cruise control can be easily modified to be adaptive….is it hardware or software that needs to be modified ???

R13, is it really an LS3? I thought that they were a 3.6L V6 only in Australia and with the addition of a four cylinder overseas.

The short answer to your question is no, the long answer is below.

Like the VF Commodore and other GM world vehicles, The Acadia used the GM Global A electrical architecture, which is bad for retrofits.

Even if you added in the radar and other hardware, it would need coding activation by a dealer or independent with the appropriate software and interface devices. These are available cheaply on the internet, but can be very dodgy and 'brick' a car.

In order to code, the device has to connect the car over the internet to the GM Delco server. This is where the problem occurs. As your car VIN did not have the adaptive cruise control from the factory, the server will not allow it to be activated.

There are vendors on the internet that can activate some features on the last Commodores by reverse engineering such as Envyous Customs. Perhaps you can contact them for advice.

I thought the same. AFAIK Aust delivered Acadias all had a the LGX 231kW 3.6 SIDI V6, which was mounted transversely. making an LS3 V8 version unlikely.

Holden brought in about 200 of the Acadias with the LS3 badged as Limited Editions towards the end of 2019 to test the market for future imports. They all sold very quickly as soon as Aussies saw they had V8’s but then GM killed off Holden and we all know the rest of the story.
As for the adaptive cruise I would have thought that given the car already has something that picks up the distance to the car in front whilst driving that the radar was already there ???

Aren't they based upon a GMC Acadia? None of those ever had anything but the V6 afaik.

My VF Commodore also has a forward collision alert. It is a visual system using the camera at the top centre of the windscreen rather than a front mounted radar.

The Acadia is not based on the GMC Acadia it actually is a GMC Acadia as sold on the US. All they did was convert it the right hand drive for Australia and put the Holden V6 in it. The LS3 V8 was an afterthought to test the market here and they only imported a limited number as a limited edition to test the market.

I doubt they would have put a Holden engine in it when the same HFV6 engine was built in North America. Did they actually convert them to RHD or were they built RHD in North America? How on earth does an LS3 fit into a front wheel drive vehicle platform of that size?

Sorry I can't answer the cruise control query, but a quick search of GMC Acadia info in the US shows they all had the V6 mounted transversely, with a 4-cyl turbo added recently.

I can't find any GMC Acadia which has a V8.

As mentioned in a previous post, the Holden Acadia was simply a re-badged RHD version of the GMC, built at the same factory in Tennessee. They were made as a RHD vehicle, they weren't converted.

Maybe it's another GM product with Acadia badges fitted. It's unlike GM-Holden to import 200 'special builds' to be sold retail for evaluation. Imagine the logistics of spare parts alone. I've never seen any literature of any sort on these.
