Who can source info on vehicle history

Gday Guru’s….I’m wondering how/where u guys compare vehicle I.d numbers to work out which factory your vehicle comes from etc and the same for engine history…is there someone on here capable of sourcing this info ? Cheers Rock.

It is not sourced in the main, it is knowledge gotten by years of researching and playing with the cars and recording numbers off them. |

Easier to post the numbers off your plates here & we can tell what the various numbers refer to.
Info like factory, paint & trim etc. are well documented.

Do you have its firewall number? That will get me closer to a build timeframe. Pagewood HK’s are a bit harder than some as the body number is cumulative for the model, in this case the 1036th HK Brougham out of the Pagewood body plant. |

The TRIM no. says it left the factory painted Hacienda Blue Metallic with Black interior trim.

Shit..don’t know if I’m more worried or confused !! Question m8 excuse my confusion…we’re does the body number 6240 come from ? I don’t see it on any tag numbers from car but I’m guessing it cld b the difference between one number and another, I havnt looked that far into it , it’s confused me…doh !!! I am on my 3rd rum tho…I will hav another look at it in the morning also…

Scratch that, the original vehicle ID Certificate I was looking at has a typo on it, it probably should be BODY number 624 not 6240. I also just found another Brougham that was built right near the end of HK and it has BODY number 1356 so your three plates all appear to go together OK. It is most likely a late 1968 (Calendar year) build. I deleted my prior post to avoid confusion. I should have twigged to the error earlier as that is way too many Broughams, GMH took a significant amount out of the production schedule for a number of reasons including that they weren't selling - this is why there were still 307 auto engines left that had to be used in HT. |
