Got a couple of stripped screw holes on the HJ. One is one of the screws that hold down the door sill cover. The other holds down the grille by the wipers. Neither is critical but it is annoying when they won't tighten.

What methods do members use to redo the hole so the screw will tighten again.
I'm thinking of trying those metal putties that you knead up and squish into place. Anyone know if this would work?
Or putting a plate underneath, maybe soldering it in place, and having the screw grip on a hole in that.
Not really looking to just use a bigger screw although that would be an easy fix!
TIA.

The sill will have to be puttied but for the wiper grille if you can get to it try using vice grips or a hammer and flat punch to squash the metal back to close the hole up. I've had good results using that method for small screw holes that don't take a lot of stress.
