If passenger side ID is 80469QR what does the QR represent?
Does this mean Hi-comp 253? Or someting else?

Actually I have just realised it has nothing to do with engine but does anyone know what QR represents in model No.

80469QR is typically a Kingswood or Mingswood to some. Thats on the compliance plate.
The skinny plate AKA VIN numbers has the info u seek. All HQ GTS with 253s should be HC models anyway. The letter R on the long skinny plate indicates a HC 253.

The answer to the question is Q = HQ series R= Right hand drive
if the vehicle was an equivalent HG the model number would read 80469GR but this only applies to Sydney built vehicles.
Some vehicles from Syd and Adel (IIRC thanks Byron;)) plants have a |

Hi Guys. In this case the Q = HQ & R = Right Hand Drive. There still seems to be a lot of confusion about what a compliance plate is, or what a body or chassis number is, etc. It works like this:- What we call a chassis number is stamped into Edited by user Saturday, 11 October 2008 2:11:24 AM(UTC)

another thing i forgot to mention was that on the same id tag where it says engine trans and axle it looks like this
engine - trans m40 axle gv3
why would they have done that what does the dash mean and also what is the diff and ratio its supose to ha

Engine is blank as it will have a standard engine for a V8 Kingswood ie a 253. Auto is optioned hence M40 appears. Also has optional diff - 2.78 Salisbury, hence its there too.
