Hi all,hoping for some guidance.
My HZ prem wagon originally had factory air.The bracket and fan are still there. Pipes out of the heater box have been sealed off. Could anyone advise where I should buy condensor/compressor.

You should be able to buy a bolt in condenser from Autoware or Vintage Air. Give them call. The links below are for whole kits but they'd sell the parts. They'd also have brackets and compressor kits.

Talk to someone first though about compatibility between the old integrated evaporator and new gases. Plus make sure the door actuators (vacuum operated) are all still working and the heater core is still serviceable. If it's all shagged you might as well buy a whole kit from Autoware or Vintage air.

The compressor I got through Vintage Air bolted straight on to my original compressor bracket.

Does it still have the A/C controls in the dash? You should be able to test all the doors if you connect the vacuum source up. There is also a vacuum operated hot water switch under the bonnet but they are normally shagged anyway. You just want to test the doors on the evaporator unit plus the fresh air intake from the cowl over on the passenger side (driver side will have a blanking plate where the standard non-A/C cars have another air intake). If all those doors work, the evaporator unit is OK, the heater core is OK and you get another vacuum operated hot water valve it won't be too hard to fit a new condenser, drier and compressor. You'll probably have to fit a new relay and circuit breaker to replace the ones that would have originally been on the inner guard, but the wiring to operate the relay should still be there. If you get hold of a HZ Parts Catalogue there are really good drawings that show where it all goes. You'll pay around the $250-$300 mark today (see link below), although you might find one on FoolBook or Gumtree cheaper. There may be scanned PDF ones around too. They are worth having of you are fixing up a car.

You'll probably need a HZ wiring diagram. The original HQ Service manual books are good but HZ is a little different. Here is the HJ supplement and the second link is a full set of HQ - Volume 5 is the one you want in teh HQ set for the Aircon stuff:

The Gregory and/or Scientific Publications book has a decent wiring diagram too, but won't have all the nice pictures that the original GMH books have. Here is one:

Hi all,
thanks all for your advice.
As a FYI
*Got all my panels back yesterday from dipping
*Engine and Transmission taken out Sunday and dropped off yesterday for a full rebuild
*Picking up the bumpers, scuff plates, and sills today after being re-chromed

The only trouble I am having is finding a place in Melbourne to refurbish the premier outer body moulds.

Appreciate the help so far and its great the support that is provided on this forum

regards

Bigtone

Distributor is easy. VC/WB to VL V8 HEI and coil. You can buy a new dizzy and coil from Goss. Example below:

https://www.ebay.com.au/...%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6iwo5rsYw

You just have to bridge the start and run terminal on the ignition switch. You can play around with the timing of the distributor once you get it all run in and dynoed.
