Hi, I'm trying to work out what the standard wheel offset is for HQ-WBs and how it'smeasured.
When I google the question I get most responses saying it's a zero offset which doesn't match up with what I have. I'm measuring a WB Statesman stock steel rim using a flat steel on the edge of the rim. I'm getting measurements of about 105mm from the rim edge to the mounting face on the inner side, and about 70mm on the outer side (plus the a few mm for the thickness of the steel to the mounting face on the rear?). That would be a positive offset of around 32-35mm, so I suspect I'm doing something wrong.
Can anyone can help point out where I'm stuffing up?

They change depending upon what wheel option was on them and whether they were 5”, 6” or 7”. |

Thanks I probably can't get too accurate on the width because they have tyres on them. Mine is an '81 DeVille (series 1) and the wheels are just the steel ones with bog standard plastic DeVille hubcaps. Tyre size is 205-70-14 if that helps... Edited by user Thursday, 3 April 2025 5:35:05 PM(UTC)

I assume they'll be the same as HZ (I don't have WB Engineering Specs as there are no cars of interest to me so never got it).
HZ 14x6 wheels are 0.5" offset unless they are cab-chassis wheels which are 0.63" (which I assume is rounded up 0.625") offset.
How you turn that into backspace is add 1" to the width to account for the beads. 0 offset gives you a 3.5" backspace (half of 7"). Adding 0.5" offset gives you a 4" backspace. 4" = 101.6mm which isn't far off your 105mm. |

That sounds closer to what I have and the difference might be an increase in width for Statesman wheels vs Kingswood.
