It hasn’t just had the 11 added to the engine number?

Are you sure it's not a 1982 block? As far as I'm aware, on 1972 and earlier GMH castings the date code format was month as letter, then day of month then last year of decade. e.g I have a date code of L24 2 recorded for a 24th November 1972 block.

It can't be a HQ block or the date code would be L232 as Kev has pointed out. It has to be a 1982 or 1992 block. There is no such thing as an auto pattern 308/5.0L until later in 1974. HT-HQ 308 was a lot less powerful than a HJ so they only got Trimatic auto once Powerglides were finished. TH350 finished about 11/82 so an 11/82 block can still be TH pattern, any later than that and they will be Trimatic again behind 5.0L until VN. So November 1992 is also possible.

I bet it’s restamped. HQ Statesman only had a TH400 if it was a 350. You cannot drill a TH400 pattern into a HQ block, simply does not work, the patterns were modified for HJ so the blocks could be drilled for TH pattern. Photo of the back of the block, the valley bolt bosses and the engine number will tell all.
11QT735xxx isn’t a HQ number either, that is well after HQ.
GMH didn’t use the Aussie date format on V8’s until well after the end of 1972.
