I need one of these ducts for rego to get air onto my windscreen, but I looked under the dash of 4 or 5 cars at the wreckers yesterday and they all seemed to be slightly different where they join into the rest of the system. Is this something Holden did just to mess with us? The rest of my system is all solid with no flex piping, see other photo.

does your car have factory a/cond ? They're different. Also there is another version with 2 flexible tubes going to the centre face vents.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

I don't have or want AC. I just need to be able to get air to blow on the screen to pass rego.

Does it need to be warm air to pass inspection?
Is the original fan/heater core assembly still in the car?

It doesn't need to be warm which allows me to do heater plumbing at a later date. There's a heater core in the car. I believe I need the y shaped windscreen duct that fits on the right hand flap/opening in my heater box:

As Dr Terry said, there are at least three, factory AC, cars with no centre face level vents and cars with centre face level vents. What is your car fitted with?

Got one, got it fitted and passed rego. Yay.
I also hooked up my heater hoses and have warm air now, but to truly warm up the cabin I need to fit the big round duct that goes from plenum to greater box.
Does this need sealant or just the foam strip around? Also should the fan have sealant applied where it mounts to the heater box?

Not sure what was used from factory and it's been a while since I pulled it all out of my car but since its only air I would use a closed cell foam rather than sealant.
Clark rubber is usually my goto for random sealing jobs.

You can buy the foam seals on eBay or rare spares. They were not glued.
