Hi all, I'm starting to do some work on my old HQ Statesman, which has suffered from decades of neglect and storage in poor quality sheds. So, it's picked up rust spots. Some surface and some deep serious rust in the usual places. Simple question I'm asking, from your experience, is rust converter or rust remover the better option?

I have my own opinions about this, but I'd really like to gauge your practical experience and advice. Anyone?

I'm aware this subject's been done to death, but I'm asking again for your personal experience and advice in respect to today's product market - rust converter or rust remover? Regards all.

Hi zmax,

I've used the White Night Rust Guard (125ml) which I purchased from Bunnings to treat fairly heavy surface rust on the underside of my VC Commodore bonnet. The top edge was completely covered which required stripping back to clean metal. I applied the white knight rust guard as per the manufacture's recommendation, primed and the painted it. This was more than 12 months ago and to date, the rust has not returned. The remainder of the larger rust spots will require replacement of the metal sections which will be done at a later date. The bonnet was a quick win, so I tackled it at home.
