Just curious at what is the minimum horse power/p.s.i/compressor tank litreage that i would be looking at for the purpose of spraying a car? As I am looking at buying one. Any info will be appreciated

You would require a min of 8 cfm compressor. The Paint gun pressure depends on what paint you use and how you thin it down (usually for acrylic paints, paint pressure around 65-75 psi). Be aware that this is a minimum requirement and you would be able to

Ive been using a 2.5hp 25L cheapy compressor from autobahn and it works well. Holds the pressure fine when spraying so no stopping and waiting for it to charge.
Thats painting with acrylic laqcuer at around 60psi.
Air tools can suck the tank dry pretty

I have one of those Binford 16 cfm its mid priced and its run every day for the past 4 years with no problem and spraying with it is no problem. I purchased mine at Blackwoods.

Also depends on your spraygun some are high pressure some are low. I have a gravity fed one that works great it runs from 25-40 psi.
I found if I run it at the higher pressures the paint tends to tramline-you get lines of heavy spray on the overlaps. I u

Look for a compressor of about 14cfm or upwards if you intend on using it regularly and for a variety of jobs.
There are some good second hand deals around, but be careful.
I wouldn't buy a sh compressor if I couldn't test it out to ensure that it holds
