Hi Guys,

I have managed to track down the specs on the rebuilt 308 in my HJ LS Coupe I am restoring. It apparently has a Megatorque Stage 3 Cam in it and as I am not familiar with the brand can anyone shed any light on it?? it has some serious lump too it! Maybe a little too much for a stock auto!
Cheers,
Allan

No idea! The bloke who built could not remember although he did tell me it makes power between 3300rpm and 7000rpm? The block was bored 20thou and the crank 10thou, flat top pistons, chrome moly rings, 10.5 to 1 compression, oversize valves, Edelbrock p

Megatorque is produced by Crow Cams. Call them and they can fax you a spec sheet.

Man, thats a pretty tame motor with a cam thats meant for that rev range. Sounds very mismatched. Hopefully its not that big!

I agree! But I think the bloke who gave me the engine rebuild details may have got the rpm range wrong on the cam. I have since found that Crow make Megatork cams and the biggest one they have for the 308 operates in the 2400-5400 range. Unfortunately

If the cam is designed to work in the range you say, (2400 - 5400)it shouldnt be too big. Probably around 220degrees @ .050"and around .500"lift. Also this sounds more like a reasonable cam for the rest of the engine combination.
Perhaps a good tune up,
