is there anyway of trying to find the engine that belongs to your car. if not why isnt there a site that you can register engine numbers that you have hoping that it can find its way home to the car it belongs in. im a mssive fan of bringing cars back to there original glory.

Hi hq71,
I cant find your engine for you, but I can find the number. If you email me at [email protected] with the VIN, I can usually tell you the original engine number.
If only there was a way to reunite strayed engines. I like your thinking. As

Oh, silly me.
Thats quite a mission you are embarking on.
I recon there is a need for a Lost Motors Home as such. Anything is worth a try. Maybe some sort of separate thread needed?

my plan is to find out who it was last registered with and go from there. there are ways but its alot of string pulling.

It may have gone into the Exchange Carousel and not the Furnace ?

I wonder if Higinbottoms or Gem have to keep records ?, if they do, it may only have to be for 7 years anyway ??

Any Cop or motor reg employee can do a search for your original engine to see if it is still in use. If it is they could give you the phone number of the owner to try and buy it back. If it isnt in use you get an engine of the era and deck the block and
